The Art Trust

I received a Whatsapp message a few months back, the person asking if they had reached Kobo Art. Replying in the affirmative, Mr. Qamar proceeded to tell me how he was a curator from India and interested in collaborating with us. We exchanged a few introductory emails and since I was to travel soon, it was decided we would connect on my return. He mentioned the possibility of visiting Dubai around the same time and things were left at that.

Mr. Qamar arrived in Dubai, U.A.E where Kobo Art is based soon after my return. He said he had too many paintings to bring to any location and requested my going to where he was staying to which I agreed. I notified him of my arrival and he came down to the hotel lobby with several rolled canvases and another gentleman who was introduced to me as the artist of these paintings, Prince Chand.

I had absolutely no idea what to expect and as one after the other the canvasses were

unrolled, I was left speechless and amazed! These were big canvasses, well over 100 cms each and the brushwork, the detail of each piece, the light and shadow with which Prince had achieved such depth left me totally spellbound.

How amazing is this art trust, the responsibility of which is an absolute honour.

Prince Chand’s work is now available for sale through Kobo Art and can be viewed here.
