Author of novels, painter, and sculptor, Helen BARENTON is a self-made French artist. Born in Reims, the “city of Champagne”, where she currently lives, she spends her free time scrutinizing her environment to translate every single particle of atmosphere into mental lively colors. Her work revolves around over-saturated hues, almost straight out from the tube, with the very purpose of highlighting the invisible that bring her subjects to life. Specializing in portraits, her artwork ranges from baroque, to realistic or even to psychedelic style. Halfway between fauvism and figurative, she loves spreading paint through colorful flattened effects, always guided by the will to break from the academic rules.
