An upcoming Indian artist based in Dubai, Yamini Manala has definitely created a name for herself in the Dubai art scene. Her flair for bringing inanimate objects to life with her ingenious strokes cannot go unnoticed. Hailing from the beautiful town of Kanyakumari, the southernmost tip of India, the oceans seem to be her muse and nature in general inspires her.
Yamini is an electronics and communication engineer. She decided to follow her heart and learned oil painting at the Abu Dhabi cultural foundation where her work was selected for exhibition. She has a long association with Dubai International Art Centre and has exhibited her work there several times.
Currently she is a part of International Watercolor Society (IWS) U.A.E. and won third prize in the National Water Color Competition. Her work was exhibited in the International watercolor exhibition in Budapest and Yamini will also be participating in the Fabriano watercolor 2017 exhibition in Italy where her work will be displayed.
Skilled in a variety of mediums – oil painting, watercolor, pastels and charcoal, to name a few; her works show a great range of versatility. Throughout her career, Yamini has explored different styles; her forte remaining expressive realism.
” Art makes us find ourselves and lose ourselves in the process. Art is like the air I breathe, without which I’ll wither off,” says the artist.
