William Gerges’s creations are a direct product of his many moods, and that generates strange but beautifully composed canvases with a mix of materials, paints and colors.
With no particular story behind any single piece, his work is a blend of expressed feelings that are represented in shapes, materials and colors. From fabrics to lace, newspapers to gold leaf and even gypsum moldings come together in each canvas to create interesting and attractive artwork.
Being a full time interior architect and passionate about his profession, William implements his design sensibility on textile, tonalities and composition in his paintings, and sometimes the influence of the Arabesque architecture is quite prominent.
William Gerges was born and raised in Lebanon, lived happily in the United Arab Emirates from 2006 till 2015. The artist currently resides between Italy and his home country.
