Marjan views art as a window opened to the heart and mind, and affirms that “the beauty is in the eye of the beholder”. She adores the emotions and feelings artistically transformed into the colors and lines to draw a portrait of the human soul. She has an open mind about artistic freedom and wishes to relieve pain and fear in life for those who are resorting to the painting not only as a craft but as an endless source of inspiration, beauty and passion.
She had devoted her life to art and art education. Although she had had an experience in theater acting and stage designing, she began painting from school days and won some national awards. She studied painting in Art School and then obtained an Associate’s Degree in Miniature Painting, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design and Illustration.
In her early works, she was under the influence of top miniature painting artists, and created images highlighting pleasure in miniature painting and Tezhib, the art of gilding and illumination. She mastered various techniques to paint in watercolor, oil, acrylic, pastel, charcoal and more. Later on she experimented with abstract art, collage art, and creating texture, light, shadow, etc., in her artworks. She also draws and paints on traditional decorative objects and artifacts.
Marjan, a versatile artist who explored desire through different materials and mediums, has a major interest in spiritual and purposeful fine art. Furthermore, she works as an illustrator, graphic designer, book and book’s cover designer, and children’s book illustrator.
She puts a positive energy into her art as a colorful screen to what she feels inside and strongly believes in this motto: “The Art is Power and The Colors have Energy.”
